2009 Ride #20

Standard loop, a couple breathing problems climbing up to the zoo, but felt pretty good beyond that. Only real problem is that summer seems to have hit the 801 in full force … going from mid-70s earlier this week, to mid-90s today.

Heat, especially rapid heat, is not something I do so [...]

Shattered

I don’t know if it’s the heat or my (lack of) fitness level, but after only 20 fairly flat miles today, I am completely shattered. At this point, I’m even too tired to get up and walk into the kitchen to try to find something to eat.

Just a short one

No legs. Very hot. Should have started earlier in the day. My fault.

Ridin’ backwards in the heat

It looks the same as so many others, but it’s not … I swear! I did the loop BACKWARDS today. So there. Nyah nyah nyah.

It was freakin’ hot, too. Saw Fastgrrrl and Dr. Clay (I think) out there coming south on 20th East as I was headed north. Good thing we [...]

Note to self …

… get up earlier, start riding earlier, don’t die in the heat. In case you’re wondering, 7.53 miles. 30 minutes, 9 seconds. AvgHR 150 bpm. I’ll try again tomorrow …

More heat …

So a week or so ago, I posted about how much I miss sharing a bed with someone.

I take it back.

It’s too damned hot.

Hot hot hot

Oh my hell, is it hot!

I can’t believe I just typed “Oh my hell” … I’ve been living in Utah for too long; local colloquialisms are starting to rub off on me …

But that’s not the point. The point is that it’s been effin’ hot the past few days, and my air conditioner [...]

I’m not ready for summer.

Does anyone else find this weekend’s projected heat bubble scary?

From a high near 40 yesterday to a high near 80 on Sunday … I get the feeling this is going to be a long, hard, hot summer.
