I spent far too much time hanging out in basements this weekend, and am completely exhausted. First, on Saturday, one of the storage rooms in the basement of my building flooded; since my condo association is currently without a management/maintenance company, that means that it was up to the board members to clean up the [...] Time once again for early morning musings on all that I am thankful for over the past year; which given the current state of the economy and world politics might be a difficult task: My condo actually increased in value, it would seem, which given he current real estate market conditions is a minor miracle. [...] Oh my hell, is it hot! I can’t believe I just typed “Oh my hell” … I’ve been living in Utah for too long; local colloquialisms are starting to rub off on me … But that’s not the point. Thankfully, [...] Here it is, 1:30am on my first night in my new apartment/condo/home. It feels weird to be here … it still doesn’t feel like my place. Not sure why, because it’s just as messy as pretty much any other place I’ve ever lived in my life, excluding the vast majority of the house in Midvale [...] Apparently, I bought a parking lot in Sandy instead of a condo in Holladay! Yep; according to essentially all of my mortgage and title documents, I bought 2770 East 9500 South, instead of 2270 East 4500 South. And, of course, I didn’t notice this until AFTER I signed all the documents yesterday, until AFTER the [...] Got the call from my mortgage broker about 20 minutes ago. Documents are on their way to the title company to be drawn; once that is done, I’ll be heading over to sign. Now I am as happy as a little GIIIIIRL! Now is the time vhen ve dance.
[...] Got home from work yesterday to discover that we didn’t have any power … the wind started picking up as I was driving through downtown SLC, and shortly after I got home it started raining; horizontal rain, at that. So I spent the evening with a Black Diamond headlamp on, reading, before crashing early about [...] … that it’s a good thing I’ve got an appointment with my counselor this evening, because I’m on the verge of a major anxiety/panic attack. Here it is, less than 48 hours from when I’m supposed to close on my condo, and I STILL don’t have the final word that my loan is in place [...] Condo appraisal came through at $5K over my offer! According to my broker, it’s just a formality now; and it’s a PRIME loan, not sub-prime or Alt-A! |
