New look / under construction

Somehow, my blog theme got munged, and is causing all sorts of problems … so I’m using a temporary theme until I can find a good new one, or figure out what happened to my original one.

Not everything is as pretty, I know, but we’ll get something figured out soon enough.

The Red Kite Prayer

Back in the mid 1990s, I interviewed for an associate editor gig at the old Bicycle Guide magazine. Grant Petersen, at Rivendell Bicycle Works (for whom I was the web guy at the time), helped out with an introduction to Garrett Lai, who was the senior editor of the magazine.

Social cyclists

Josh Kadis, over at Kadisco, has two recent posts on how social media outlets like Twitter are affecting the connection between the professional cyclist and the everyday fan. Blogging for a cause (and good music)

Anyone who knows me knows what Neko Case does to me … between the voice and the red hair, I’m generally reduced to a quivering pile of Steven when I’m listening to her. So it should come as no surprise that I’m really looking forward to her newest album, entitled MIddle Cyclone, which is due [...]

In looking through my stats today, I’m seeing a really high number of consecutive clicks into this site, and from there to an ad on my site; then back to the site, and to another ad; [...]

WordPress for iPhone

One of the things I really like about my new iPhone is the number of apps available (many for free) to expand its capabilities. One such program is the new WordPress for iPhone app, which gives the WordPress-based blogger the ability to update a blog from anywhere.

Most mobile blogging applications merely give one [...]

Okay, people …

… what’s with all the fascination about pro cyclists’ personal lives?

Recent search strings leading people to my blog:

Tyler Hamilton divorce Tyler Hamilton IRS Lance Armstrong divorce Will Frischkorn divorce Greg Lemond divorce Richard Sachs gay Michael Balls Floyd Landis Floyd Landis gay Tyler Hamilton gay

These are all Google search strings that have [...]

Cycling-related blog?

It’s really starting to sink in that this ostensibly cycling-related blog has very little cycling-related content anymore.

I’m really going to have to do something about that.
