The only thing I can figure is that it jammed up one of the pulleys, so the chain, instead of rolling through the derailleur pulled it up and into the spokes ... and the tension ended up breaking the carbon plate on the parallelogram.

But you can definitely see how ugly it was ...

There's gum in the pulleys, there's gum on the chain, and there's gum going around the chainring. It's a mess.

How the hell does a piece of warm bubble gum ruin a derailleur, and a campy one at that?

In the local series you do not need a cyclocross bike ... many new riders end up using their mountain bikes until they get hooked and simply MUST HAVE A CYCLOCROSS BIKE RIGHT NOW!!!

No comment just a general question. I want to ride some cyclocross this fall but have never done any. I have a road bike (no chance of off roading) and a mountain bike. Do I have to have a cyclocross bike to enter and race? Could I use my mountain bike?

thanks

rock approached contender, why not promote cycling. as much as many do hate michael ball, hes a multi millionaire business man and knows how to market.
just what hes doing.

if you have not noticed contender is the best shop in the salt lake area, by best i mean quality of inventory, this post is not to dispute the shop, but to bring to mind ryan/alison/dan are business people as well and recognize an opportunity, all be it some may say small window of opportunity but none the less, to bring in lots of people and sales.

i would have done the same thing if asked.

tyler did his time, hes black balled for life. everyone hates him, "i swear on my dead dogs dog tags"

i think its his job description, to redeem what damage has been done by his past decisions.

tyler and freddy are not going for GC, they probably wont even start the TT sunday after blowing it up for sevilla sat.

To this day we know Russia is the stronger country military wise, they have put their fear into Georgia by showing just that (entering the country with with an unnecessary abundant force, killing a vast amount civilians and then leaving again like nothing had happened)... hoping this fear will generate respect and future obedience to the Mother country. However and I quote... no, not from the Bible but from a known green midget source saying "Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering" I pray the latter will not come to be, for the the day will surely come when Russia has burned its own bridges across the world and when allies are running short.

As it is today what has happened will be forgotten in the stream of news from the Olympic Games, another thousand or so people have lost their lives due to Russians atempt to set the status que in balance. but in the end of the day we now that " Fear is the path to the dark side"!
