And stupid motherfuckers, at that. My Trooper got broken into last night … the “thieves” smashed the front passenger window, knocked my roof rack all out-of-whack, and tried to steal my stereo, breaking my dash in the process. They didn’t succeed in getting the stereo, which was held in by two small Phillips-head screws. Seems [...] So this morning, for the first time in over a week and a half (and the first time since my ureteroscopy), I’m going back to work. Believe it or not, I am actually looking forward to it. In a way, it’s been nice to have a few days off work, but there’s only so much [...] Well, not really, but I did have to call AAA yesterday to get a jump-start because I killed my battery on Friday evening. Got it started, then headed out to AutoZone to get a new battery. Problem with the new battery is that the negative lead does not want to fully tighten on the negative [...] So yesterday the Trooper was in the shop (Tunex, not the Isuzu dealership) again, although I think this is it for awhile. I had to have the high-pressure power steering hose replaced, and there was a small leak from the transfer case. The Tunex mechanic didn’t actually fix the transfer case leak, as it’s coming [...] So Kim just started a new job yesterday, working for McCann-Erickson, which is a division of the Interpublic Group. The Interpublic Group is a consortium of the world’s largest advertising agencies; Kim will be the Technical Project Manager (exactly what that entails, I haven’t a clue), working on one of the firm’s largest accounts. She [...] At the ripe middle age of 38 years, 10 months and 4 days, I have become the owner of my very first automotive vehicle. It’s a 1995 Isuzu Trooper S, 5 speed manual, 4WD with 132,000 miles. It’s in decent, but not great shape. Missing a little fender flare, cracked windshield, needs new wiper blades, [...] |
