Then a few games of pool, a round of Frisbee Golf, and nice long soak in the hot tub with a large cocktail. Now my head hurts. That’s just not [...] Looks like we’re gonna have us some cyclocross weather for the first race of the Utah Cyclocross Series tomorrow up in Ogden. That’s snow falling in the pictures below. My thermometer is indicating 35 degrees outside right now; and while tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and warmer (mid-60s for the high), it ought to [...] Got the word today that the divorce papers are almost ready for me to sign before they get filed … and oddly enough, I’m feeling a sense of relief rather than despair. One friend is likening the process to ripping off a Band-Aid quickly, so the wound can heal. That seems like a really good [...] As planned, went snowshoeing last night with Steve W., Amy A., Jenny A., and Dan & Karen N., up at Mueller Park, in Bountiful. The temperature was 11 when we started, about 7:30; not sure if it got any colder while we were up there or not. Out about 2 hours, not sure how far [...] Friday night, when the forecast is calling for highs in the teens, and near-zero lows, I’m planning on going on a snowshoe in Mueller Park, up near Bountiful, on Friday night. Looks like a trip to REI for a headlamp and some hand and toe warmers may be in order! It’s gonna be fuckin’ cold, [...] Met Steve W. and lovely wife Amy up at Snowbasin today for a little snowshoe, while their kids were taking ski lessons. We did about 3 miles, up some fairly steep hills (much steeper than Mill Creek Canyon), and in deep powder … at one point, I was able to plunge my poles (with powder [...] Went for a nighttime snowshoe outing with the Mistress, Cutthroat Jenny, and Indohran/Slohran (who pretty much went out on his very first snowshoe excursion tonight). Not only was this Slohran’s first outing on snowshoes, but he went out and bought snowshoes and boots today before giving the whole thing a try. This means, of course, [...] It is so good to finally be back home … and yes, Utah is now my home. My trip to Arizona was mentally draining in so many ways that I’ve not even been able to think about anything to post since I’ve been back … just trying to clear my head and get re-centered. Plan [...] Another day, another week done. Communication day yesterday wasn’t too bad … when it comes to basic raises, it wasn’t as good as I was hoping, but wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. MS did announce a small bonus (on top of our normal annual ESOP match), of which I will be putting 10% [...] |
