Crazy weekend

So after yesterday’s ride, I was pretty much wiped out in the evening … was thinking about going to bed about 9:00, when I get a tweet from the Reverend Big Ring, who was at the Bayou quaffing Chimay with his lovely fiancée Rachel, the Husla (who of course was not drinking), and a few [...]

Bud to be bought by Belgians?

InBev Mulls Bid for Rival Anheuser – WSJ.com

Anheuser-Busch Cos. [NYSE:BUD] faces a potential assault from beer giant InBev NV and activist investors that threatens to place the 150-year-old American icon in foreign hands.

Leuven, Belgium-based InBev is weighing an unsolicited takeover of the Budweiser maker, people familiar with the brewer’s planning said on Friday. [...]

Video Poetry (Closing Edition)

SEMISONIC – CLOSING TIME

Closing time, open all the doors And let you out into the world Closing time, turn all of the lights on Over every boy and every girl

Is it just me?

Or does it really seem like Wild Oats has really gone downhill since Whole Foods took over?

Necessities!

Update (about 7 hours later): Sometimes, happy hour is a necessity … and the past couple of days at work definitely helped contribute to that feeling.

Supersuckers ROCKED the 801 …

… as did Denver’s Railbenders, who were playing their first show in Salt Lake City.

Wonder how long it will take for me to ditch the cigarette smell? Wonder which will be worse … the cigarette or vodka hangover?

Mmmm; yummy!

Fabulous lunch with the the short one today at Cafe Niche on 3rd South and 8th East, just northeast of Trolley Square. Don’t know if it was the atmosphere, the food or the company, but this was definitely one of the best lunches I have had in awhile.

After dropping Jennie off, had a good [...]

So when is the After Party?

The Last Call Cyclocross Race (and Utah Cyclocross Series Awards Party) were yesterday …

On a morning that looked like it was going to be another epic snow day in the valley, got up and headed down to Wheeler Farm to work the final Utah cyclocross race of the season. It was a day where [...]

Boozing …

It’s so nice knowing that there are people in Utah who love their alcohol of choice as much as I do …

In this case, it’s Dr. Cross, and his non-definitive (but still pretty thorough) guide to Scotch Drinking for Beginners; and I can’t think of a more expressive quote from than this:

Wine people [...]

Poetry Friday

The Wine-Drinkers

The wine-drinkers sit on the porte cochère in the sun. Their lack of success in love has made them torpid. They move their fans with a motion that stirs no feather,       the glare of the sun has darkened their complexions.

Let us commend them on their conversations. One says “oh” and the other [...]
