First day in shorts and short-sleeves in 2013. First complete climb of Emigration in 2013. First ride over 35-miles in 2013. First time I didn’t feel like my heart was trying to exit my chest when it got near 170 (where it spent a lot of time today).

I’ve definitely lost fitness from last summer and Christmas. I’ve put some pounds back on as well. 209.4 this morning, which is not good, and not anywhere close to where I want to be. It’s time to really start paying attention to my calorie intake again like I did last summer, when I dropped from 217 to about 201. I’d like to be at 180 (or less) for Crusher in July, but 2 1/2 months is not a lot of time to drop that much weight. I’ll be happy if I’m in the low 190s. I’ll be ecstatic if I’m below 190.

Today’s ride was a good start. Need to ride again tomorrow. Need to do the commute a few times in May for Bike Month. Who knows, maybe it will become a habit again like it was in San Francisco/Oakland and when I first moved to Utah.

Otherwise, I might have to change the name of this site from Flahute to Flabby-ute. Fatty-ute? Either way, the goal is to avoid that.
