First time I’ve managed to do the Wasatch Loop (which my friend Jennie dubbed “the Sheffield Loop” a couple of years ago) this season. It was hot. I hate the heat. Except I seem to ride really well (for me, anyway) when it’s really hot. Ambient temperature was 88-93 range; but according to my Garmin, the temp coming off the asphalt was about 103, with a max temp of 111. Only had a few breathing problems, but I think that was more due to the normal lack-of-fitness exercise-induced asthma when going uphill, rather than heat related. Legs felt good for most of the ride, only starting to really tighten up on the last stretch from Cotton Bottom back into Holladay.
