Yesterday was not a good day on the bike … my legs felt tight from the beginning (which is nothing new), and since spinning easy before pushing myself usually loosens things up, I headed up towards Emigration.

This was a mistake, I think. I could never really find a decent rhythm (slow or otherwise), and by the time I hit Ruth’s Diner, my legs were screaming at me. I decided to push on, but had to give up the ghost at Sun & Moon when my knees locked up, and every muscle fiber in my legs felt like it was on fire. Turned around, dropped back down the canyon, and headed for home.

Feet up, relax, sandwich, one beer, lots of water … hopefully today will go better; but definitely planning on sticking to a somewhat flatter route, possibly the prison route, possibly Wasatch. We’ll see how the legs feel when I get out there.
