Okay, yeah …

… so lifestyle changes? Yeah, they suck. Hard. Big hairy donkey ear hard. I was going to say donkey dick, but you know, that’s just too damned much alliteration, and I have readers who are sensitive about profanity, so I try to keep it to a minimum.

I’m trying to lose a little weight … actually, I’m trying to lose a lot of weight, but I’m starting with a little. Thus far, I’ve managed to lose about 7-8 lbs in the past couple of weeks, primarily by cutting back on soda, and paying better attention to what I’m eating, like yoghurt and granola instead of pizza and burgers.

Problem is that the dietary changes are wreaking havoc not only on my digestive system, but on my head as well … I know that’s just the lack of caffeine talking; but I’ve not cut it out completely … I drank no sodas over the weekend, but still had my coffee.

This morning, however, I overslept pretty severely, due to being up too late last night dealing with … digestive “issues”. No coffee this morning before I went to work; and no coffee at work, because … well … it sucks. But I should have just sucked it up and had bad coffee, because now I’ve got this dull throbbing headache that I can’t seem to kill.

Even though it’s only 9:30-ish, I’m going to bed very shortly, and will hopefully be waking up at my nice normal 5:00 am (generally snoozed until 6:00 am), rather than at 7:23 like I did this morning … if only to make myself a good strong double cappuccino, and get tomorrow started off right.

And hopefully this next weekend I’ll feel good enough to ski, instead of being chained to my apartment as I was this past weekend.

  1. Many of my relatives really got into the Weight Watchers point system. Good way to manage diet.

    But I still prefer the mountains! Plan to hit Solitude tomorrow.

  2. We’ll see how I do just by eliminating most of the crap before I resort to “systems” … have fun at the ‘Tude! We’re supposed to get a fresh dusting on Wednesday, and Thursday is supposed to be bluebird, so I might be forced to play hooky …

  3. Dude i have only lost 7 pounds since the begining of x season and ive been riding every day.
    as for the caffeine, dont go cold turkey, you have to ween off of that or your gonna wanna clear your headache with a .45. good luck

  4. It is the toughest battle in the world to lose weight, exercise and feel like a human being at the same time. Keep trudging along, it will work eventually.
