Skiing Snowshoeing Utah

Snowshoeing at Snowbasin

Met Steve W. and lovely wife Amy up at Snowbasin today for a little snowshoe, while their kids were taking ski lessons.

We did about 3 miles, up some fairly steep hills (much steeper than Mill Creek Canyon), and in deep powder … at one point, I was able to plunge my poles (with powder baskets) at least 18″ into the powder, which means that with compression the snow was much deeper.

It was a beautiful day, sunny and mostly clear. Not very cold. Part of me almost wished I hadn’t decided not to go skiing (the forecast had called for high mountain winds), but if I had, I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy this wonderful afternoon with two great people.

How many fingers you holdin’ up there, Steve?
