Cycling Food and Drink Skiing Utah

urgh …

Is it possible to still have a hangover two days after a party?

Saturday was the Utah State CX Championships; as previously mentioned, I finished my race … but that’s about all I did. My back has been bothering me; so I rolled easy for much of my “race” … I even stopped for a mid-race chiropractic adjustment. Thank God for teammates who are well over 6′ tall.

Then late lunch at Lone Star Tacqueria, where I introduced Indohran and the Gallaghers to the valley’s best fish tacos (after a little confusion about what “Lone Star” meant, when they first started heading to Lone Star Steakhouse) … met up briefly with A-Train, the Mistress, and Swill and Lorita of RideTrash.

Saturday night, went a little further north for a party at another teammate’s house, which involved WAY too much alcohol. I think I personally killed about 3/4 of a bottle of VOX.

Had the worst hangover of my life on Sunday morning, not surprisingly … didn’t get home until about 2:30-3:00 yesterday afternoon, and am still feeling it a bit this morning. Definitely think I’ll be laying off the sauce for a week or two to recover.

This next weekend is an off-week for the local ‘cross series, while many of the top racers head off to Seattle and Portland for the last two races in the US Gran Prix of Cyclocross.

Most of the local ski resorts are scheduled to open next weekend as well, so depending on how the conditions are, maybe I’ll take the rock skis up one of the canyons to lay down my first tracks of the season.
